Ahh the final month of Spring in Australia. The beautiful sunny days that we usually get to enjoy were few and far between this year! Melbourne really struggled to shake off Winter, and it remained under 23 degrees most of the time, bringing buckets of rain and even some hail. At least when there was a nice day, we truly appreciated it. The garden came back to life and the warm sun was pleasant without being burning hot!
Here's this months' round-up:
If Spring is known for anything (besides flowers) it's baby animals!! We were delighted to discover a nest being built under our patio, between some pot plants. The cute little black birds were busy for days, perfecting their nest of twigs and grass. Soon after, we took a peek inside and spotted 4 speckled blue eggs! A patient wait of about 3 weeks later, we noticed they had started to hatch! While always being cautious and staying a safe distance away, we were able to take a look inside the nest and saw a muddle of pink, featherless babies. Mother and father bird have been busy ever since, frequently bringing worms to feed their growing brood. It was so sweet to watch, especially when mum was sitting to keep them warm, dad would bring her food too. I'll update next month, when I'm sure we will witness their first tentative steps out of the nest :)
Earlier in the month we celebrated a friend's engagement, with a chilled cocktail event at Howler in Brunswick. It was such a fun night & great to see some old friends we haven't caught up with in a very long time!
I started prepping my Christmas gifting boxes - more on that soon! It was nice to get crafty again and make something with my hands. Look out for the release later this week!
My friend and I took our chance on one of the sunnier days and headed to the beach! We stopped by a supermarket to grab some snacks (cheese, crackers, dips) and popped our towels down on the sand to relax. Such a wholesome day, catching up with a friend and soaking up the sun while listening to the waves lap the shore. More days like this please! <3

Here's what I've been loving this month. A random assortment of whatever I had on high rotation, whether it was a snack, a TV show or a song, maybe you'll discover a new favourite of your own!
Zarraffa's has arrived in Pakenham! I remember first trying their amazing frappes on holiday in Brisbane years ago, and was obsessed! It's like an Aussie Starbucks :P We got a caramelised fusion and an iced latte - loving the Christmas cups!
Cosy board games - with all the rain we've been having, some weekends we just played games! Two of my current faves are Wingspan and Stardew Valley, highly recommend. In the near future I'll write a blog post going into more depth on our board game collection for those interested! Stay tuned.
Songs I added to my Favourites this month:
You can check out my 'Current Faves' playlist here - always adding and updating.
Taskmaster UK. Recently discovered this amazing show. Comedians doing ridiculous tasks to earn points given by the Taskmaster (Greg Davies) - hilarious and mostly* kid friendly *some swears!
This candle from HartCo "Peony, Rose & Amber" - a beautiful, moody floral scent. They have so many incredible scents, I definitely need to add more to my collection!
Uprooted.com.au - a fab plant shop located in Far North Queensland that ship all over Aus. I was given a voucher a while ago, and finally made a purchase after narrowing down my enormous wishlist. They stock rare and hard to find plants too! Absolutely love my new babies - they arrived fast and were packed and cared for so well.
Pineapple. One of my absolute favourite fruits, and I'm happy that it's currently a bit cheaper in the supermarkets. It's zesty, summery and full of Vitamin C. Probably could eat a whole pineapple in one sitting...
Hungry Jack's collectable glasses. I'm a sucker for a cute and useful collectable! Free with a large meal and a new design every week. We decided it's probably not a great idea to eat a ton of junk food though, so got one each for the month. I got the two designs I really wanted too: flamingos & sloths! Shall be sipping some summery cocktails from them in no time :)
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream - absolute GOAT for dry skin, which my poor hands suffer from a lot thanks to Melbourne's dry air! Smells lovely, absorbs fast and made ethically - win!
Myer's Christmas Section - always stunning, and gets me in the festive spirit as soon as I walk in. I love browsing through all the pretty decorations and gifts. Someone give me a $500 voucher please??
And that's a wrap on November! Very excited that Christmas is just around the corner - I seriously love bringing the Christmas magic to our home and decorating almost every surface! Not to mention finding the perfect gifts for friends and family, I love a curated moment. Speaking of, look out for my planty gift boxes going live in a few days, we're nearly ready!
Thanks for reading,

Jess
